The Tree of Life (Shajarat-al-Hayat) in Bahrain is an approximately 400-year-old, 9.75 m (32 ft) high Prosopis cineraria tree located 2 km (1.2 mi) from Jebel Dukhan and abundantly covered in green leaves.

The tree stands on a hill in the Arabian desert surrounded by miles of sand. There is not another tree as far as the eye can see; there is actually no life at all in the vast, arid desert. The average temperature in the region is 105 degree Fahrenheit often soaring to 120 degree, and bone – stripping sandstorms are common.
