Christmas is taken very seriously in Iceland. The whole house is cleaned, everyone gets something new to wear, people buy the best food, decorate the house inside and out and bake hundreds of cookies. It is truly a feast of the senses. Christmas trees in Iceland are decorated with snowflakes, candles, and elves called Jolasveninar.
